Professor Tony Martin, the world's foremost authority on the life and work of The Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey, received an "ecstatic welcome" from hundreds of members of London's Black community who braved not only the winter weather, but more significantly, the last minute Jewish attempts to sabotage the event, to hear his lecture entitled THE JEWISH ONSLAUGHT: Exposing the Jewish role in The Black Holocaust.
 
Professor Martin became the focus of intense and heightened community interest after he was unceremoniously banned by the white Mayor of London from speaking at a Black history conference in October. The Mayor's use of a negro underling to announce and enforce the ban, as well as the nefarious pressure from anti-Black Jews, shocked and outraged Britain's Pan African community, who responded to the attempted reimposition of mental enslavement by defiantly organising two London lectures by Professor Martin, relying solely upon the Black community's own resources.
 
Professor Martin's lecture was prefaced by a packed schedule of visits to an expectant community, that included appearances on phone-ins held on radio stations Choice FM (Saturday 29 November 2003), Galaxy FM (Sunday 30 November 2003), and, following his lecture, in the early hours of Monday 1 December 2003 at BBC London with host Henry Bonsu, who had previously refused -- under pressure -- to broadcast information about the controversy. Each radio appearance was marked with switchboards jammed by London's Black community asserting their right to listen to leaders and teachers of their own choosing in general, and support for Professor Tony Martin and his message, in particular. It proved impossible to find anyone who was prepared to support either the gagging order on Professor Martin by the Mayor of London or the negroes who had participated in enforcing it.
 
The power of the Jews had become immediately evident when the owner of the building scheduled to host Professor Martin's lecture arbitrarily cancelled the lease held by the Black leaseholder of Trini's banqueting Suite in Peckham, south London, so that the event had to be relocated at less than 24 hours notice to the nearby Ezekiel's, a popular club also in Peckham, a deprived urban area that is home to one of Britain's largest Black communities.
 
Over 500 Black people -- hungry for knowledge and eager to hear the internationally renowned scholar -- packed into two floors at Ezekiel's and even more were locked out. People started arriving at 3 p.m. and the club was packed, with standing room only available by 4.30 p.m., the scheduled start of the day's proceedings. Technical problems -- resulting in large part from the attempt to sabotage the event -- delayed the lecture for more than four hours, yet not a single person left the venue. Professor Martin was clearly moved when he eventually appeared on stage and was given an ecstatic reception by the enthusiastic audience, who stayed until 11 p.m. -- more than two hours past the scheduled closing time. Each person left with their thirst for knowledge comprehensively quenched.
 
During the course of his wide-ranging 1 1/2 hour lecture, Professor Martin left virtually no stone unturned, as he thoroughly documented the history of Black-Jewish relations from the creation of the myth that Black people's physical features were the result of a curse, via the holocaust of the Atlantic slave trade, through to Jewish attempts to control the US civil rights movement, and right up to modern day attempts to subject him to academic lynching. The audience was held spellbound by Professor Martin's lecture, frequently responding to his revelations with shouts of "Teach teach." There were further shouts of "Disgrace" when Professor Martin drew attention to the recent unsavoury spectacle of a white Jewish female Member of Parliament publicly fighting with the negro adviser to London's Mayor for the honour of claiming the credit for "disinviting" Professor Martin to a Black History Conference.

Over 1,000 people turned out to hear the great master teacher and Garveyite historian -- Prof. Tony Martin -- whose support the 1990 Trust said was in single figures, after the Mayor of London dis-invited him to the 'First Voice' conference (Sat 25.10.03).

Defying apparent sinister attempts at sabotage -- the landlord's untimely repossession of the original venue (Trini's 2 Banqueting Suite) -- the enthusiastic crowd arriving hours before the scheduled start, and with only twenty-four hours prior notice, poured into the contingency venue, Ezekiels, on Sunday 30.11.03, thanks to the efforts of Prophet Jah B (Bobo Shanti). Not even a burst water main, causing sewage overflow in the building, could surmount the determination of the organisers and the people that the event will go ahead. And there was even a 'plan C' in place. As with the Chestnut Centre the following evening (Mon 1.12.03), a video link-up was necessary to accommodate the massive gathering.

A magnetic drum call by the Soul Force Panthers, an explosive libation lead by Bro. Ldr Mbandaka, riveting solidarity messages by Bro. Asari St. Hill (AUAF) and Bro. Hughie Rose (NBPP) and a humorous but serious political satire, dramatised also by the Soul Force Panthers, with expert compering from Bro. Kwaku Bonsu, set the scene for Prof. Martin's grand entrance at Ezekiels. At the Chestnut Centre (1.12.03), it was the engaging devotion led by Sis Kai Ouagadou (ARM), solidarity messages from Minister Hilary Muhammad (NOI) and Prince Tafadzwa Mbandaka (Co-Chair, PAYO), poetry from the talented young sister, Oneness, and Elder Bro. Pepukayi's (PACM) introduction.

Rapturous applause greeted Prof. Martin and delayed his opening remarks by several minutes as the clapping, stamping and hailing of hundreds of elated Afrikan men, women and children persisted. Outpourings which expressed not only their huge adoration for a brave 'warrior scholar', who has triumphed over a decade of "Jewish Onslaught," but their profound sense of victory over their oppressor, by exercising the power of unity and self-determination.

The gatherings remained responsive throughout, punctuating his messages with shouts of "yes sir!", "word sounds!", "teach!", "tell it!" and frequent applause, as Prof. Martin, with his usual scholarly approach, replete with wit and humour, exposed the truth about the Jewish involvement in the Afrikan Maafa (enslavement and oppression) and the vital, all-pervasive and timeless lessons of His Excellency Marcus Garvey's 'Race First' philosophy.

The end of his messages was marked with equally rousing ovations, followed by questions and answers, where brothers and sisters lavished praise and gratitude on Prof. Martin for his commitment to the rescue and reconstruction of the Afrikan mind and history. Both sessions were convened by Sis Affiong Southey (Moyo Wa Taifa) and Bro. Asari respectively.

Book signings followed, lasting almost four hours in total, as hundreds of brothers and sisters queued to take advantage of an opportunity for a one-to-one, however brief. A delighted Prof. Martin declared that this was the longest book signing he had ever done. Events concluded at the Chestnut Centre with a spirited communal rendition of the Universal Ethiopian Anthem -- the anthem of Papa Garvey's UNIA.

Prof. Martin also appeared on three radio phone-in programmes, during his visit -- Choice FM's Schumann Shuffle, Galaxy Radio's (102.5FM) Rene Dan Interactive Show and Henry Bonsu's BBC London Live show -- all of which attracted a rich vein of predominantly positive calls and e-mails. Brothers and sisters eagerly thanked the professor and urged him to keep up his great work. Following the event at Ezekiels many called the BBC London Live show -- 10:00pm - 2:00am -- armed with the inspiration and knowledge from the earlier meeting to challenge the views of guests Linda Bellos and Peter Herbert Q.C., which were woefully incongruent with those of the overwhelming majority of the grassroots.

In spite of a poor attendance by the 'mainstream' press at the press conference (Sat 29.11.03), members of the Pan-Afrikan press -- including Afrika Real News, Galaxy Radio, Power Jam - Nubian Forum, POWER, Nekhebet Productions and Soul Force Bulletin -- were present and engaged Prof. Martin in a constructive and informative discourse on the purpose of his visit. The Voice, New Nation and London Extra newspapers had, commendably, sought to report objectively on the Professor's visit prior to his arrival.

The lavish reception dinner laid on at Temi's Cyber Kitchen (29.11.03) was also an outstanding success. Some fifty leading members of prominent organisations, as well as eminent elders, community leaders and activists, were present to honour Prof. Martin on behalf of the entire community. The excellent food, buzzing conversations, moving speeches, creative décor and hearty rendition of the Afrikan National Anthem -- 'Nkosi Sikelele Afrika' -- made for an exciting and memorable tribute, fit for a king.

In response, Prof. Martin thanked the organisers and the community as a whole. He said that he was very impressed with our capacity to organise and mobilise at such short notice and our effective exploitation of the electronic media. He was also moved by the evident spirit of unity and the appreciation we showed to him, and regarded the whole campaign to be a great historical development, which he urged us to properly document for posterity.

Prof. Martin returned to Trinidad on Tuesday 2.12.03, feeling truly vindicated and rejuvenated, leaving behind a proud, united and empowered community with a clear sense of "what Afrikans can do when we work in freedom" (Patrice Lumumba).

All around the community a celebratory spirit reverberates as brothers and sisters praise the organisational unity and self-determination that brought us this powerful victory. That Afrikan people of the Pan-Afrikan (Nationalist and Socialist), Afrikan Spiritualist, Rastafari, Christian and Muslim persuasion were working in harmony for the liberation of our people was for most a very exciting revelation. But we must also be reminded that this is a small, though significant, victory in the greater fight for our people's total liberation. The Jewish lobby was able to have Prof. Martin dis-invited because it is organised, as are all our oppressors, and the only sure way to defeat an organised enemy is to be organised. The need to organise is therefore paramount. Indeed without organisational unity this victory would have been impossible. This is in fact the answer to the question that many are asking, "Where do we go from here?" The answer: Join an organisation! now! And work daily for the liberation of your people. If you are not ready to join, become a registered, active, paid-up, supporter.

Remember, "an army of ten will defeat a rabble of a thousand". This is why the Most Eminent Prophet and King His Excellency Marcus Mosiah Garvey urged us to:

"Unite, organise now or perish."

Dear Louise Ellman,

I hope that you have been checking the website www.blacksandjews.com to see the response of the Black Community in London to Professor Martin's visit to London over 30 November to 1 December 2003.

I refer to the front-page article regarding Professor Martin in the Jewish Chronicle (Zionist Chronicles previously a staunchly anti-Zionist paper), of October 17, 2003. I wonder what makes you so arrogant to appoint yourself as an expert on who should and should not speak at a Black History Conference. Notwithstanding that the conference organised by London Mayor Ken Livingstone and his flunkey Lee Jasper (a Jewish-Zionist agent working in the Black Community, a man without honour, morals or common decency), was up to no good in the first instance; I am of the view that your action in calling for Professor Martin to be barred from the conference poses the question as to whether you are a Jew or a Zionist.

I am aware that any person who has Judaism as their religion is a Jew. As an African and a Pan Africanist, I have a duty and a responsibility to defend the integrity of Judaism, a just religion, meant to serve a just God and to serve truth and justice. You may or may not be aware that Judaism came out of our glorious African culture, that an African named Moses (see Sigmund Freud's Moses and Monotheism) started it.

A person who was definitely not a Jew started Zionism, a pernicious, criminal, racist, evil political movement. Theodore Herzl, a self-proclaimed atheist, started it. Zionists practice lying, killing and stealing in breach of the commandments laid down by Moses and then using the holy Judaic religion as a cover for their evil deeds. The alacrity with which you rushed to falsely accuse Professor Martin of being anti-Semitic gives us an indication that you are a Zionist and not a Jew.

But we know that Semitic is a linguistic term that has nothing to do with race, religion or ethnicity. Most of the Semitic languages are spoken in Africa. Hausa, which is spoken in Nigeria and throughout West Africa, is part Semitic. It seems to me that promoters of Zionism like you deliberately set out to cause confusion as to who is anti-Jewish. Zionism is anti-Jewish because its practice of lying, killing and stealing are anti-thetical and carcinogenic to the high principles of Judaism. Given that Jews are purveyors of our glorious African culture on which the high principles of Judaism are founded, no conscious Black person will harbour anti-Jewish sentiments.

It seems to me that what has annoyed some people who call themselves Jews is the exposure of the historical fact that Jews were involved in all aspects of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and the criminal, wicked, evil enslavement of Africans from the fifteenth to the nineteenth centuries. That Professor Martin put extracts from the book The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Vol. 1 on the reading list for his students at Wellesley College has offended Zionists, of this there can be no doubt.

That the campaign against Professor Martin orchestrated by the extreme right wing Zionist Mary Lefkowitz has been a failure, of this there can be no doubt. That is why you are still on Professor Martin's case and is proof of the deceitful nature of Zionism and the International Zionist Movement. We will never forget that people calling themselves Jews insulted us by walking out of the United Nations World Conference Against Racism held in Durban, South Africa in 2001, refusing to accept the truth that SLAVERY WAS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews show that Jews took part in the CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY committed against Africans. The wealth that some Jews have accumulated today is founded on the profits made from being involved in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, the forced enslavement of Africans and the GENOCIDAL SLAVE LABOUR OF AFRICANS.

The Jews owe us REPARATIONS. It is time for the Jews to start paying the Reparations that they owe to us Africans. It is time that the Jews admit their involvement in the African Holocaust. I have no interest in an apology. What we demand and what I demand are REPARATIONS. Just in case you doubt the involvement of Jews in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, I attach for your perusal, an article by Rabbi Marc Lee Raphael (Nathan and Sophia Gumenick Professor of Judaic Studies, Professor of religion, and chair of Religion, The College of William and Mary, and a visiting professor of Wolfson College, Oxford University).

Before closing, I wish to draw your attention to the wicked practices of Jewish Magistrates in imposing harsher sentences on Blacks than on whites they convict for similar offences. A Black Magistrate complained to me about this. These are things that we will never forget. In your capacity as a Member of Parliament, why don't you call for an independent, open public inquiry into this charge made against Jewish Magistrates by a Black Magistrate.

In closing, may I remind you that one of the Holy Books of the Jews tells us:

"Upon three things the world rests, Upon peace, upon justice and upon truth For when there is peace there is justice And truth prevails.

The lack of peace in the world today is in part due to the practice of Zionists calling themselves Jews, using their power, influence and wealth--based on capital accumulation from trading and the genocidal slave labour of Blacks--over the governments of Britain and the USA to cause injustice, oppression and exploitation in the world. For example, the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq by the USA in alliance with Britain under the Zionist promoted Project for the New American Century. The Zionist architects of PNAC forced Bush to overplay his hand and now, the USA stands exposed as a declining power.

Finally, I must tell you that I am of the view that Jews are an ungrateful people. If the history of Jews as told in the Holy Torah is true, then taken together with subsequent events, then Jews should be forever grateful to Blacks for saving them three times in their history. I wonder who will save the Jews the next times their fellow Europeans turn against them.

I must remind you, that truth crushed to the ground will rise again as in the words of Gerald Massey:

"Truth is all potent with it silent power If only whispered, never heard aloud But working silently, almost unseen, Save in some excommunicated book: ,Tis as the lightning with its errand done Before you hear the thunder."

Current Struggles Echo Those of Garvey
 

Professor Martin's lecture tour moved to the Tottenham area of north London, longstanding home of another of Britain's largest Black communities, and a short distance away from the scene of a bloody uprising in September 1985 following the police-inspired death of Black grandmother Cynthia Jarrett.
 
On arrival at the Chestnut Community Centre in St Ann's Road, it became immediately apparent that imposing though it was, the building was unlikely to be of sufficient size to accommodate all of the further hundreds of Black people desperate to hear Professor Martin's lecture "RACE FIRST: The Need To Revive Garvey's Legacy."
 
Again, the start of the event was delayed out of necessity, in an attempt to allow access to the building for the hundreds of Black people keen to signal the community's support for Professor Martin and its refusal to bow to pressure from external forces. As with Professor Martin's previous lecture, it was necessary to arrange for audio visual links to a standing room only overflow area in the same building.
 
Yet again, Professor Martin's lecture -- frequently punctuated by shouts of further shouts of "Teach" and "Garvey Lives" from the audience -- left no-one disappointed.
 
From a crowded platform populated by various representatives of one of the broadest coalitions of Pan African and Black Nationalist community organisations assembled in anywhere in Britain for many years, Professor Martin provided a careful analysis of the history of the Garvey movement with its key tenets of Race First, Self Reliance and Nationhood, and noted the significance of these concepts to the recent disinvitation and the Black community's response to it. In a particularly significant and timely passage, Professor Martin reminded the audience that for much of his life, The Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey had faced opposition from integrationist negroes who had been funded and controlled by a white Jewish lobby. In the light of the events that precipitated his visit, the significance of Professor Martin's reminder was not lost on the audience, who ranged from distinguished and well-known Elders to babes in arms and pushchairs.
 
Previous claims by Jewish-funded negro organisations that "only a few" people had been interested in the ban on Professor Martin were exposed as at best a complete loss of touch with the Black community, and at worst, a cynical attempt to divert attention from their skulduggery, when the book signing that followed Professor Martin's lecture continued until 1.00 a.m. in the morning, as hundreds of Black people sought a permanent memento of a historic watershed in the life of Britain's Black communities.
 
Professor Martin left London safe in the knowledge that many people's lives had been changed forever as a result of his historic visit.

Gone are the days when Afrikans will tolerate the persecution of our truth tellers, or the paternalism of those who have a vested interest in the perpetual oppression and exploitation of our people. The massive international outrage of Afrikan people, sparked by the dis-invitation of Baba Tony Martin, from the Mayor of London's 'First Voice' conference - 25th October 2003 - is a case in point.

Leading Pan-Afrikan organisations in Britain have responded by inviting Baba Tony Martin to address the Afrikan community - live in London - on Sunday 30th November and Monday 1st December. The Afrikan United Action Front (AUAF - a Pan-Afrikan coalition), Alkebu-Lan Revivalist Movement, New Black Panther Party and Afrikan-Caribbean Leadership Council pooled their resources in organising and promoting an action packed weekend involving radio appearances, a press conference and a reception dinner in honour of our master teacher - Baba Tony Martin.

The organisers have the firm, active and or moral support of the Black United Front Parliament, Nation of Islam, Ethiopian World Federation, Global Afrikan Congress, Pan-Afrikan Youth Organisation, Ethiopian Afrikan Black International Congress/Bobo Shanti, Hackney Black People's Association, Galaxy Radio and Power Jam - Nubian Forum. The event has also been sponsored by the following community businesses: Yemanja - A Window To Afrika, Cyber Kitchen Internet Café, Yum Yum Restaurant and Takeaway, Hylton Estates Consultancy Services, Meroe Jewellery, Audio Visual Media Services, Maarifa Books, Cummin' Up Caribbean Caterers & Take Away, Kwazen Books and Nubian Minds. Other sponsors wish to remain anonymous, whilst individuals have volunteered contributions to ensure the success of the events.

The overwhelming, widespread response is not only an act of defiance but self-determination - emphasising that we are our own masters and that we have taken back the power of life and death we once gave others over us. It also explodes the myth propagated by the 1990 Trust that supporters of Tony Martin were "a small number". In fact, we are confident that the Afrikan community will turn out in a tremendous force to affirm our love and appreciation of Baba Tony Martin, as well as to send a clear message to the powers that be.

Predictably, the Jewish lobby has been quick into action, bellowing threats and demands down our telephone. The "London Jewish News", on seeing our promotional leaflet, wanted confirmation as to whether the events were 'actually' going ahead. When we did not reply, at 11:24 am on Wed 12th November, they issued us a deadline for "12:00 noon or 1:00pm" - by when they would expect a response.

This smacked of intimidation and harassment which should come as no surprise to any of us who is aware of the Jewish onslaught against Baba Tony Martin, Nana Kwaku Duah, (Dr. Leonard Jeffries), Minister Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton (even Jesse Jackson and Cornel West), etc. it was as though they presumed to give us a chance to repent of our sins before they pronounced our eternal damnation.

This exposes disingenuous attempts to underplay the dominant role of the Jewish lobby in instigating the infamous dis-invitation and highlights the sheer gallantry of Bro. Lee in taking the 'flak'. Furthermore, although Bro. Lee and co. denied that Baba Martin was being accused of anti-Semitism, the Jewish Chronicle of 17th October 2003, boasted on its front page: "Livingstone ban anti-Jewish historian from conference.

Is a woman anti-male, because she reports her rapist? Of course not! Why then are Afrikans "anti-Semitic" for reporting the facts about Jewish involvement in the Maafa (Afrikan enslavement and oppression). In context, Jewish hostility towards Baba Martin or any outspoken Afrikan is no less sinister than a psychopathic racist who stalks, defames, incarcerates or eliminates his victims to prevent them from exposing him.

Paradoxically, the conference was entitled "First Voice" -- a seemingly apt title for a conference concerning the history of the 'first people'. Yet the voice of the foremost scholar on the legacy of our most outstanding historical figure - Marcus Garvey - was silenced.

Such contradictions reflect the very insidious nature of the Maafa. Afrikans enslaved: whipped, raped, maimed, murdered, massacred, worked from sun up to sun down without pay - all in the name of God, humanity and civilisation. Afrikans bound and shackled in ships named Integrity, Brotherhood, Humanity, Mission of Mercy and of course; "The Good Ship Jesus" - captained by the Rev. Sir John Hawkins. Afrikan women called wench, bitch, belly warmer, etc. yet made to breast-feed little white babies.

Thus, in the name of all things good and pious, was the total dehumanisation of Afrikan people institutionalised, denying us, inter alia, the right to speak the unspeakable, to stand tall with our heads up, our backs straight, and the look "the man" in the eye -- called reckless eyeballing. Violators of such codes were called "uppity niggers" and had their tongues and eyes gorged out, or their back mutilated by the enslavers whip or torch. In more recent times, they have been murdered, incarcerated, vilified, deported or banned - Omowale Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King Jr., Fred Hampton, Mumia Abu Jamal, Kwame Ture, Louis Farrakhan, Tony Martin, etc., etc., etc.

But, "How long shall they kill our prophets, while we stand aside and look?" The voice of the Afrikan community says: "No longer!" We will stand firm, with our heads high and our backs straight. We will look "the man" straight in the eye and defend the right of our teachers to teach, our leaders to lead and our people to know and speak our truth and 'yet' stay alive.

We are our own liberators! We have the power to transform oppression into opportunity and this malady into a miracle. The miracle of Afrikan people coming together in the true spirit of Umoja - unity; Kujichagulia -- self-determination; Ujima - collective work and responsibility; Ujamaa -- co-operative economics; Nia -- purpose; Kuumba - creativity; Imani -- faith; toward fulfilling our Pan-Afrikan object - the total liberation and unification of Afrika and all African people, under a just Afrikan World system.

Come one! Come all! The drums of Afrika call!

"About Face" by Jewish Flack, Lee Jasper

A month after banning the internationally renowned scholar -- Professor Tony Martin -- the world's leading authority on the life and work of Marcus Mosiah Garvey -- from the First Voice Conference on 25 October 2003, on the basis that Professor Martin had "shared platforms" with those holding "anti-Semitic" views, it now appears that Lee Jasper wishes to share the same platform with Professor Martin.
 
The remarkable about turn -- which coincided with the announcement by leading UK based Pan Africanists of Professor Martin's impending lecture tour visit to London -- was revealed in an announcement made on a radio programme hosted by Henry Bonsu and broadcast by BBC Radio London on Sunday 23 November 2003.
 
In what has been viewed by some as an attempt to divert the community's attention from Professor Martin's lecture tour, it was announced that Mr Bonsu's backers were attempting to organise a studio "debate" between Professor Martin and Jasper, who at the time of the announcement was already participating in the broadcast by telephone.  Bonsu, who had previously made no reference to the widespread storm of controversy sparked by the ban on Professor Martin in his weekly broadcasts
(see article on Bonsu), suggested to Jasper that he might like to debate the issues surrounding the ban with Professor Martin.  Jasper, whose lengthy CV boasts memberships of many organisations  virtually unknown to the community, including The Black Jewish Forum, responded by saying that arrangements for any such debate should be made "through his office". 
 
Already some in the community have expressed fears that any such broadcast studio "debate" will take the form of some sort of attempted high tech lynching of Professor Martin at the hands of carefully selected and organised lobbyists from outside the African community. excluding the many thousands of Africans who were outraged by the ban imposed on Professor Martin from participation in the phone-in.   A number of people have already drawn attention to the fact that Jasper has refused a number of requests to publicly debate the reasons for Professor Martin's ban on London community radio station, Galaxy Radio.
